May 26 UpdateHi Swordfish Families, The swimmers have been training hard for the last few weeks, and swim meets are just around the corner. As you know, we will be holding our mini-meet this Friday, at SAIT from 5-6:30. Just a reminder to email Karen Hawkes (kdhawkes@telus.net) by Wednesday noon if you will be attending. Please let her know your swimmer(s) name & group, as well as Parent Names to officiate. Also a reminder that Friday is the last day to sign up for the Okotoks meet on June 6th. June will be a very busy month for the club as we are hosting the Swordfish Meet, on June 20th. This is a big undertaking, and will need involvement from many club members. Many thanks to those who have already put in many hours to getting the meet organized. We are currently looking for sponsors for our meet. If you know of any people or companies who would be interested in sponsoring part of our meet, please let me know. Sponsorships could involve:
We could also be creative with sponsorships - people/companies could pick an event to sponsor if they wanted. In return, we can post signage, place ads in our heat sheets, make announcements during the meet. There will also be sign up sheets for officiating coming soon from Craig Brown, who is organizing officiating at our meet. One final reminder, for June. The SAIT pool will be closed from Monday June 22 to Friday June 26. For that week all of our training will be at the Foothills pool, on a modified schedule. Cheers! Mike Bester Swordfish Executive |
