Registration Information

Hello Calgary Swordfish Swimmers and Families,

We are all anxious to get the swimming season started. Registration will be on Friday, March 18th, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Wednesday, March 23rd from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Sir John A McDonald school (6600 - 4th Street NW) .
We are anticipating a full club and registration will be busy. To help speed up the process, please have the following documents and cheques filled out beforehand:

  1. FORMS – to be found on website (www.calgaryswordfish.com or on TeamSnap (for returning families))

  2. CHEQUES  - All cheques to be made out to “Calgary Swordfish Swim Club”
    3. Registration Fee:
    • 1 - Cheque dated May 1, 2011
    • $300.00 per swimmer; $100.00 for the 3rd swimmer or more from the same family

    Volunteer Commitments (please review and initial attached “Volunteer Commitment” document and bring to registration)

    –these cheques will be returned at the end of the season if commitment is fulfilled or cashed if commitment is not fulfilled:

    • 1 – Cheque undated to officiate at 2 or 4 swim meets (see document) - $200.00
    • 1 – Cheque undated for attending Officials Clinic or for fulfilling a major volunteer position - $200.00
    • 1- Cheque undated for volunteering at Casino to be held on May 25/26, 2011 - $200.00

  3. COPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE (only if new to the Swordfish)

  4. OFFICIALS CARD - if you have one

  5. SWIMSUIT SIZING will be done on registration day. A swimsuit is included in your registration fee. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOUR SWIMMER(S) ATTEND REGISTRATION TO TRY ON A SUIT.


    6. ***NO SWIMMER CAN PARTICIPATE IN PRACTICES PRIOR TO REGISTRATION RECEIVED IN ITS ENTIRETY***


Reimbursement Policy: Swimmers must be at least 5 years old and up and must be able to swim one length of the pool (25 meters) after one week. The coach will evaluate after one week and decide if a swimmer is allowed to continue. Swimmers who have not

made the qualifications and are unable to compete as determined by the coach(es), will be entitled to a full reimbursement of their registration fee;

If a swimmer opts out of swimming prior to May 14th 2011, the registration fee will be reimbursed minus a $50.00 administration fee. If a swimmer opts out of swimming after May 14th, 2011, no fees will be reimbursed.
